5th Grade wins Adidas Elite

Donation News

The Riverside Hawks received a $1,500 donation for a learning center. The center will provide a quiet space for tutoring, computers, SAT Prep and a home entertainment center for teams to review their games. “It’s a phenomenal start to building a center where we can provide space to help develop our members academically while building self-esteem and team building.” Executive Director, Mark Jerome explained. “Our goal is to prepare our student/athletes for college and the process will start in the learning center.”

AAU Updates

In 2008 seven Riverside Hawks team qualified for AAU National Championships, which is 5 more than last year.  The 3rd grade and 5th grade Riverside teams won the New York Regional championship this spring, while the 6th grade lost in the championship. Other teams qualifying are the 4th grade (lost in the semis to eventual champs), 7th grade (lost in the semis to eventual champs), 8th grade and 9th grade (lost in semis to eventual champs).
